FDA x Harvey Green Debate

DISCLAIMER: Because of limited bandwidth, we will be capping this year’s program at ~45 4th-6th grade students. Students will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. All students beyond capacity will be put on a waitlist.

This year, Fremont Debate Academy (FDA), a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, is running an 8 session long competitive debate program focusing on the Middle School Public Debate Format at Harvey Green Elementary School. The different structured types of argumentation and research methods will be taught to the students. The public speaking abilities of the students will be greatly enhanced through practice sessions, drills, and mini-competitions. This course will be led by Kanak Gupta and Annika Verma current high schoolers competing for the Irvington High School Debate Team. At the end of the school year, there will be a FDA international tournament!

FDA Harvey Green Debate sessions will be held on Fridays from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. There will be 8 classes for this program. The start date for the sessions will be March 1st. We’ll be having two sessions on the two Thursdays- March 14th and March 21 (no sessions on Friday these weeks). Our last session will be on May 3rd. April 13th will be excluded due to spring break. Note: Parents are responsible for picking their children up promptly at 7:00 pm right after the session.
